Satellite Heart

I finally managed to do an illustration that I didn’t immediately want to stab in the face. PROGRESS! And for something awesome as well. Another piece done for Sessions from the Box, of the spectacular Anya Marina. Who I am actually a fan of. Guess which song is my favourite? Anyway, here you go!

Bird in a Cage

A new Freckle-Face is up and ready for your viewing pleasure. I’m settling down into the job I have now and slowly but steadily getting back into drawing once more. It’s been hard adjusting, but change is always hard and always will be – but it’s usually for the better. So here’s hoping. A few cool things are coming up in the very near future so I’ll be sure to have my sketchbook handy and at the ready. Hopefully the weather will cooperate soon, because we’re drowning here in Portland.

I’ve also been reworking the piece I did a while back, and am much happier with the result. I’ll probably be using this for some promotional mailers in the very near future since I have a regular paycheck coming in that I can use for silly expenses like… oh… self-promotion. So here’s hoping!

Inundation

Hello friends! I should be updating here more often than I have been with the announcement I’ve got right here.

I’m going to be launching a weekly comic strip in the next month! I’m still ironing out some details as well as y’know… where to host/post them, but keep your eyes out for Freckle-Face in the coming weeks.

It’ll be a bio comic, because you know what? I love me some bio comics with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns. And now that I’ve got an income (minimum wage as it is) I can afford to buy ink for my printer! Among other things of course, but that means mini-comics galore. I’m also working on a project that’s finally getting off the ground after a few months of planning and research and will keep you guys updated on that once it actually gets a name.

Speaking of comics, if you live in Portland or are in town for Stumptown Comic Fest and are of the female persuasion, you should come to Drink and Draw like a Lady West. It’s going to be Friday, April 23 from 7:30 to Midnight at The Secret Society at 116 NE Russell Street, Portland, OR. Super cool people are going to be there, and so should you be.

And now that I’ve inundated you with links, I’m off to go enjoy a ride along the waterfront in the beautiful weather we’re having today.

Dandilion Dreams

Illustration of Jennie Wayne, a local musician here in Portland for Sessions from the Box. I’m thinking of making it my new promotional postcard. Decisions… decisions. It just happens to be the perfect size for the format…so we shall see. Aaand I just edited it so it won’t make your eyes bleed. Cause no one likes bleeding from the eyes.

Happy Birthday

Drew up a birthday present for my friend, Kelly! Cause she’s pretty kick ass like that. The lovely lady featured is one of her original characters, Trina.

Bird-Brained

Just something I did tonight that I particularly liked. Playing around with different ways of colouring and some texture. His name is Helix. Long standing character that I’ve been playing around with in my head since I was 12. Goodness. That’s 10 years now. Ughgughg. Here are the lines, cause those are super cool and I’m a fan of them.

PS: … Canadian Women’s Hocky team totally won gold tonight. Kick ass!

Benoit Pioulard

Newest Illustration done for Sessions from the Box , of Benoit Pioulard, a local musician here in Oregon. Cool stuff to be had. I’m going to be pumping out a few more illustrations in the very near future. But right now am focusing on getting a job with a steady income. Here’s hoping!

Hourly Comics

Tried to do a comic for each hour of the day, but realized I was spending more time on the comics than … any work at all. But it was a good experience and I’m rather happy with what I ended up with.

Is is sad that my favourite one is the cat barf one? I think it’s a little sad.

Be warned, it’s a rather large file. Just sayin’.

Garage A Trois

Just finished another illustration for Sessions From the Box, this time of the band Garage A Trois. Nothing much going on other than that. Cheers. Oh, in case you were curious, this is what pops up when you google “spacewalk”. That my friends, is what you call awesome.

Nearly Christmas Time

It is nearly Christmas time. Just need to send out those cards which calls for a ride down to the post office. Good thing the weather is actually lovely today! Finished this illustration today. I’m rather a fan of the lines on their own as well – so you get to see both. Good on you.
